Actor and singer Jane Birkin dies at 76

British descent Jane Birkin, a renowned figure in France passed away in Paris at the age of 76.

French Ministry of Culture shows sorrowness towards the news.

According to family members and local media, he was discovered dead in his house. Birkin has experienced heart issues in the preceding years before having a small stroke in 2021.

The song “Je t’aime… moi non plus,” which she and her then-lover, the late French singer and songwriter Serge Gainsbourg, sung in their 1969 hit, made Birkin famous internationally.

She had been a resident of her adopted France since the late 1960s, and in addition to her songs and starring roles in numerous films, she was well-known for her friendly demeanour and unyielding support of LGBTQ and women’s rights.

In December 1946, Jane Mallory Birkin was born in London. At the age of 17, she first appeared in stage. She later performed in “Passion Flower Hotel” whose composer was John Barry. Later she married him and in late 1960, they got seperated.
